How to Apply
You can apply to volunteer using our online application. You will be asked to create a username and password for our volunteer system at the start of the process. We have temporarily paused training while we settle into our new home at 427 Lakeshore Road E, but you are welcome to apply now and we’ll let you know when training resumes.
Please be aware that our minimum volunteer age is 18 years old. At this time we are focused on onboarding volunteers who will be available for at least 6 months and able to do an average of at least one shift per week (3 hours). Our volunteer shifts are self scheduled so you schedule shifts that work for you.
New volunteers are being brought in with a contact free email/Google Meet orientation process, followed by onsite role specific training on your first shift. The length of the wait is a function of available positions, your availability, and your experience/skills. Adding more detail to your application will help us match you to a role.
Current Volunteer Opportunities
We will be opening our kitchen again soon and are looking for volunteers with an interest in creating or serving delicious and healthy food. Food Safety training will be provided. If you’d like to cook, or serve snacks and meals from our kitchen this would be a great role for you. It’s a fun and social opportunity with the chance to connect with both volunteers and clients.
Specialized Volunteer Roles
We are in need of the following skills to support our ongoing operations:
- Event volunteers to help with our annual Walk
If you have any questions please email email@example.com. Our volunteer manager Sheryl would be pleased to discuss these roles with you.
We are a Food Bank & Outreach Centre located in and serving South Mississauga
