You asked and we listened. Wednesday hours are being extended. We will now open 2 hours earlier each Wednesday and will be open from 12 – 5 pm (instead of 2 – 5 pm). This means less wait times and more flexibility for when you come.
Instead of one shift for volunteers we will split the shift into two to match the Friday shifts. This means more volunteers are needed – if you have been thinking about volunteering this would be a great time to download an application!
The new hours are effective February 22, 2017.
Here’s our current newsletter for you to read. You will find articles about the Men’s Group going to Ottawa, our new Intern, a team of seniors that’s collected truckloads of food at Hillside Place, photos from our Volunteer Appreciation evening and more.

Almost 100 Compass Volunteers got together last month to celebrate their gift of giving to the community. Elaine McCarthy and Pat Cullen spoke from the heart about our volunteers. And a delicious dinner was followed by a draw for many prizes! It was a remarkable evening.
We are all grateful for the opportunity to volunteer at The Compass. It’s such a special place.
Here’s a selection of images to remember the event by. Read More…
A BIG thank you to Impressionable Gifts & Décor at 74 Lakeshore Rd. E. in Mississauga (located in downtown Port Credit) for hosting their 6th Annual Diaper Drive!
Through the generosity of their staff, customers and community members they donated close to 50 packages of diapers and 20 packages of baby wipes. Well done!!
Check out this amazing pile of diapers!
The Toronto Star ran an article this weekend on the MiWay Affordable Transit Pilot Program. Uptake has been lower than expected and Pat Cullen from The Compass was interviewed.
If you are interested in applying for a half price transit pass we can help you apply at The Compass. You can read more about the program here. The deadline has been extended to October 31, 2016.
